This year saw the return of the marquee for the At Home and it was a block-buster sellout with 140 attendees.
The 2023 Club Championships ended on Saturday 2nd September in brilliant sunshine. It was a fabulous fortnight with records numbers entering – 222 players – and a record number of events – 18. We introduced 5 new Class 7/non-league events for the first time and there was a fantastic level of entry for these. And the matches were just as exciting as they were for the championship events, with many going to long 3rd set tie-breaks – great joy and agonising heartbreak in equal measure 😫
The standard of play throughout was exceptional. Kate Egan retained her Ladies Championship crown in a 3-set thriller with Sophie McCarthy – 6-7 6-4 7-6. Ronan Sweeney recaptured the Men’s Championship crown that he first won 2 years ago.
