IT’S A WRAP!

17 events, 218 players, 282 entries and 262 matches!!!!

We were blessed with the warmest night of the summer for the At Home on September 7th.

We’ve just about recovered from what was an absolutely amazing fortnight of club championships and At Home. Just as well it’s only once a year or we’d be permanently in a heap!

Well done to each and every one of you who made it such a success. A special shout out to Tom, Steffi and Catherine who literally ate, slept and breathed GLTC for two weeks! They did a superb job with all the scheduling and went out of their way to accommodate everyone, always with a smile.

To Cintia and all the team for putting on such a fantastic At Home, the biggest and the best ever! To our fab caterers, Ali and Alan Lord and to the GLTC committee for supporting this event whole heartedly.

To the bar volunteers, the bakers, the decorators, the gardeners, the clearer uppers, the photographers, the djs, all the volunteers, you all made this such a fantastic event. Thank you!

The club champs is all about the participants and well done to each and every one of the 218 players who entered! Lots of thrilling tennis on display from all levels, elation and disappointment too, but that’s sport. You are all amazing and every match was played in the spirit of fair competition and friendship.

Congratulations to all our finalists and winners, especially to this year’s singles champions Sophie Mac Carthy and Damon Gaffney. Both back on the honours board again!

GLTC is a club run by volunteers and every year the captains chose a member of the year-someone who consistently supports the captains and the club in so many ways both on and off the court.

This years very worthy recipients are Ana Grehan and Phil Reid. Well done both of you, we are so lucky to have you in the Glenageary family!

We have some gorgeous photos sent to us by members that capture the essence of this great tournament and celebration. Enjoy and see you all next year!
