Congratulations to our two Glenageary teams on reaching the Autumn Charity league finals.
GLTC Class 4/5 team (Marie Harte, Lisa O’Hagan, Bridget Whelan, Jacqui Broderick, Emer hunt and Jenny O’Connor) having got to the finals on a smooth run met very tough opposition in Elm Park. All matches went to three sets but unfortunately the D4 team got the better of us on the day. But it’s winners all round in this league as the finalists get to choose charities of their choice for the prizes and the Irish cancer society will benefit by €500.
Our non -league Tuesday team cruised through their round robin coming out on top and claiming victory. They have chosen Crosscare and Aoibhneas (Domestic Abuse) as their charities of choice. Penny O’Brien and her team (Paula Farrington, Deborah O’Neill, Julie Brunker, Adrienne Burke and Emer Hart ) will now progress to the Monday league. Congratulations and we’re sure we’ll be seeing more of these ladies on their way up!
