Clean Sweep for Glenageary in Men’s Floodlight League

Congratulations to the Men’s Class 4, 5 and 6 teams who all won their DLTC Floodlight League finals on November 27th. Glenageary had the honour of hosting two of the finals and there was a great atmosphere in the club with lots of supporters cheering on.

The Class 4 team, otherwise known as The Teen Dream Team played in Naas. Jamie Ó’Núailláin won his singles 6-3 6-1. Kalen Healy and Rodrigo Gonzalez Garcia won their doubles 6-1 6-2. Chris Park was locked in a very tight battle in the second singles 6-7 2-0 before retiring.

The Class 5 team played Portmarnock 2. Jim Moylan won his singles 6-1 6-2. Duncan Osborne and Shane Groeger won the doubles 6-1 6-1 and Andrew Collins was leading in the other singles 6-4 3-2.

The Class 6 final came down to the wire with a great win for Marcus Pettersen in the singles 6-3 6-3. The doubles team of Eoin Burke-Kennedy and Nick Odlum narrowly lost 1-6 7-6 10-6. It all came down to Stephen Mault who won the first set 6-3 and then saved 4 set points in the second set tie-break to close out the match!
