Dear GLTC Member,

As you know by now, the club is looking forward to welcoming back it's members to tennis on Monday 18th May.

We have been working with Leinster Tennis and Tennis Ireland to put in place new protocols that will keep us all safe, enable us to maintain social distancing and assist with contact tracing should that ever be required. Please see the latest Tennis Ireland guidance here - https://www.tennisireland.ie/2020/05/08/covid-19-return-to-tennis-guidance/.

I would like to share with you the main highlights of these new protocols so that you can prepare for a safe return to tennis on May 18th. Please understand that these will apply for Phase 1 and it is expected that these will be amended and updated as the country moves through the various phases.

These protocols have been developed with the first priority of player safety. Tennis is one of the first sports to be restarted and it is important that we project the right image of the sport to the wider community and that the club sets a good example.

Appeal for Volunteers

To ensure we comply with these new protocols, we need your help! We are appealing for volunteers to act as Compliance Supervisors. We must have a Compliance Supervisor present at all times. So if we want to open from 9am until 10pm then we need to cover all those hours 7 days per week. If you are prepared to give some of your time, please send email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your preferred days/times. For example, if you like to play a game from 9am to 10am, then you might consider staying on until 11am or 12pm to provide supervision.
If we don't get adequate supervision then we may have to shut the club for certain hours of the day.
