Compass Draw
We hope you have been enjoying the tennis in the lovely weather and are getting back into the groove after our enforced absence. We are delighted to say that we have welcomed in a number of new members over the last few weeks and we are keen to integrate them into the club and also encourage everyone to get playing friendly matches.

Compass Draws

We are introducing an element of competitive tennis in the form of Compass Draws to keep you all keen 😉
  • Competition is for Ladies Singles and Men's Singles, aged 14 and over
  • Each compass draw consists of 8 players and we will do our best to ensure that similar standard players are in each draw.
  • All players are guaranteed 3 matches, win or lose.
  • Matches are scheduled by the players within the given deadline (1 week is allowed for each round). If match cannot be completed within the deadline, then Captains will decide a winner (which might be the toss of a coin)
  • Matches must be completed within the max court allotted time of 1.5 hours
  • Matches will be best of 3 sets, the 3rd set being a championship tie break (first to 10 points)
  • All games will be decided on first point after deuce (receiver decides which side to receive on)
  • It is expected that 3 rounds of matches will be completed by June 30, followed by a finals completed by July 3rd.
This is a friendly competition so no prizes but pride is at stake 😊🏆

If you are interested in participating, ladies please contact Catherine, or men please contact Gary before midday on Monday 8th June. Please state your standard in case we don't know it. If you have already played league tennis for Glenageary or another club, state the class you normally play. Otherwise, state whether you are Beginner, Improver (non-league), Intermediate (class 5-7 league), or Advanced (class 1-4 league).

Draw will be available by Wednesday morning and all first round matches should be completed by Tuesday 16th June.
